Yr Hen Beudy is located in the heart of Ceredigion - a coastal County which borders Cardigan Bay in West Wales, and stretches from the southern fringes of the North Wales mountains, and majestic Snowdonia, to the
northern boundaries of the Preseli hills in Pembrokeshire.
The sea is just 14 miles away, the famously lovely Teifi Valley is nearby, as is the ancient university town of Lampeter, and the newer one of Aberystwyth, the colourful coastal resorts of
Aberaeron and New Quay, the market town of Newcastle Emlyn and the historic town of Cardigan.
The Cardigan Bay coast was in the past noted for its ship-building, and nearby New Quay
is still an important local harbour. Sea trips are available from here, to see dolphins and seals, and locally-caught fish and sea-food are landed here by local fishermen. Sailing for pleasure is much in evidence, and you can hire sailing boats and take sailing, wind-surfing and canoeing courses here too.
Other coastal spots to visit include Llangrannog, Tresaith, Aberporth and a number of National Trust areas.
